Susan Consoli, soprano
 



Making her Boston Cecilia debut, Susan Consoli has been praised for her light, clear soprano voice with delicious warmth and richness. Ms.Consoli's recent solo engagements include Monteverdi Vespers and Vivaldi Gloria RV 588 and 589 with the Handel & Haydn Society, Mozart Mass in C Minor and Bach B Minor Mass with the Newton Choral Society, Faure Requiem with Phillips Academy Chorus and Orchestra. Ms. Consoli has worked under such notable conductors as Grant Llewellen, John Finney, Christopher Hogwood, and James David Christie. Recent operatic roles include Dolor in Patientis Christi Memoria with Ensemble Abendmusik, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel with Opera New England, and Angelina in Trial by Jury with the Andover Choral Society.

Upcoming solo engagements for Ms. Consoli include Bach Magnificat and Haydn Lord Nelson Mass with the Masterworks Chorale led by Allan Lannom, Charpentier Messe de Minuit with the New England Classical Singers under the direction of David Hodgkins, Monteverdi Vespers with David Carrier conducting the Newton Choral Society, the Music of Rogers & Hammerstein and Andrew Lloyd Webber at the Great Waters Music Festival led by Gerald Mack, Handel's Judas Maccabaeus with the Concord Chorale (NH) under the direction of Ryan Turner and Pergolesi Stabat Mater at Boston College. This summer, the Carmel Bach Festival invited Ms. Consoli to be guest soloist performing a recital of Italian Baroque lute songs. This is Ms. Consoli's fourth season as a member of the Handel & Haydn Society Educational Outreach Vocal Quartet. She is on the voice faculty at both Boston College and Phillips Academy of Andover.

Ms. Consoli performs in Schütz's Musicalische Exequien on October 16, 2004.
