Audition for The Boston Cecilia!
The Boston Cecilia is Boston’s longest-existing amateur chorus, with repertoire ranging from period instrument performances of Handel and Bach to fresh works from contemporary composers. The chorus is comprised of about 60 singers.
We are happy to report that we will be holding in-person auditions this summer. Please fill out the form below with your information to schedule an audition.
Audition Information
In-person auditions are 15 minutes in length and include vocalizing, sight-reading on one’s own voice part and singing a solo piece of the candidate’s choosing (art song, aria, hymn, or something in the classical style).
Audition dates
Monday, July 19, 2021 — 6:30pm-7:30pm
Monday, August 30, 2021 — 6:00pm-7:30pm
(or by prior arrangement with the Music Director)
Rehearsal times and venue
Monday evenings, 7:30 to 10:00 at All Saints Parish, 1773 Beacon Street, Brookline.
(Rehearsals begin in early September.)
Occasional Saturday morning rehearsals (10:00am to 1:00pm) - three or four times a year.
